Program Manager- Raleigh, NC – Permanent

As a Program Manager at our client, you will be responsible for planning, implementing and delivering our clients DCM products. You will also play a key role as we accelerate our efforts to deliver new functionality, capabilities and ease of use into our core products. You will be responsible for project approvals, requirements development, effort and cost estimates, scheduling, design, implementation, testing, user documentation and customer deliverables.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 Serve as liaison between sales, marketing and engineering

 Develop “partnership” with corresponding software engineering team leader.

 Driving and prioritizing the product roadmap for future enhancements.

 Partnering closely with engineering and customer support to deliver product improvements.

 Work with sales, marketing and engineering to establish product revenue targets based on sound assumptions.

 Meet set revenue and financial performance goals of the product portfolio.

 Construct business models and pricing.

 Define product positioning and articulate to the sales team.

 Develop sales collateral to support field teams.

 Assist sales force in preparation of RFP/RFIs.

 Prepare reports on customer application and utilization of company products and services.

 Develop and document high level product requirements for new products or features and market analysis. Carry out competitive analysis to ensure competitiveness of company product offerings.

 

Required Skills:

 Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent.

 PMP certification preferred

 Understanding of Client/Server, Database and Embedded Software Architectures

 Experience collecting and managing customer requirements.

 Ability to plan, execute and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 Excellent oral and written communications skills.

 Experience working with teams split across multiple global locations.

 Experience working with software implementation and deployment teams.

 Knowledge of Data Center environments and software systems preferred.

 Experience with Project Scheduling/Monitoring, Management, and Scoping.

 Experience with the management of software implementation projects.

 Knowledge in software industry products/service and applications.

 Team leadership and change management skills.

 Partner with Solution Management or Segment leader to define overall work breakdown structure, detailed tasks, and assess impacts on other projects. Facilitate cross-functional Program Team to define, estimate & schedule resources & program work to achieve program scope.

 Provide a platform for communication and relationship management — engage stakeholders for buy-in, relieve bottlenecks & complexity.

 Provide performance monitoring, information and reporting; help diagnose root cause of problems.

 Identify and escalate critical issues in timely manner.

 Alert stakeholders to potential scheduling risks, anticipated slippage, and take pre-emptive action to mitigate.

 Excellent design judgment – what makes software great and why

 Strong track record of collaboration across cross-functional teams

 Demonstrable technical abilities & strong understanding of software development methodology/technology.

 3-5 years of management and leadership experience a plus.

 Exceptional verbal and written communications skills

 By far the most important skill is the ability to work as a team player. This entails being individually productive–on time and within budget–and working with others in a creative environment to solve problems as a team. It includes team loyalty, contributing ideas, being respectful of others, and the ability to get behind a decision once it is made.

 Comfortable in a fast-paced and cutting edge development environment.

 

Additional Non-Tech Skills: In addition to the team skills described above, the candidate should have strong technical leadership qualities, and possess good technical writing, presentation, and organizational skills. The candidate must have impeccable ethics and possess the ability to have fun while working hard.
